FAQs

What is the difference between a financial advisor and a financial coach?

A financial advisor helps with investments and wealth management. They may charge an ongoing fee (a percentage of your invested assets) for managing your accounts. Financial advisors usually will require a minimum amount of investable dollars. For example, they can  require a minimum of $250,000. If you don’t have that amount to invest, they will not work with you.

A financial coach will work with you if you have little to no assets and helps you develop a better relationship and mindset with your money. Financial coaches look at the root of the problem to determine how best to overcome budgeting issues, getting out of debt, spending mindfully, and more. I will help you become self-sufficient when it comes to your personal finance.

What is a financial coach?

A financial coach will help you improve your management of your money and help develop/change behaviors as it relates to your connection and relationship with money. A financial coach will gain a thorough understanding of your background with money, discuss your short and long-term goals, review your budget and spending by looking at what comes in and what goes out, review your overall debt, review your saving and spending challenges, and develop a plan to help you achieve your goals. I will also work with you to help you overcome money traumas so you can finally heal from them.  I will show you that while money does not buy happiness, it does buy financial freedom and give you options!

When should I work with a financial coach?

If you are in debt, a financial coach can help develop a plan for you to pay down your debt and develop a good budgeting plan. Whether you make $30.000 or $3,000,000, you always need a budget. Income does not equal wealth. No matter your income, it is important to have an emergency savings, have little to no debt (not including mortgage) and have a plan to achieve short and long-term goals so that you can set yourself up for success as you get closer to retirement. If you feel handcuffed by your financial situation, I can help you develop the tools you need to achieve financial wellness and freedom!

How will I know if we are good fit?

It is very important to me that you trust me. Talking about money is incredibly personal. It is more emotional than we think. I pride myself on having a judgment free zone at all times and one where you can feel comfortable talking to me about your goals and overcoming challenges. Schedule a 30-minute consultation with me so we can discuss where you are in your financial journey. There is no obligation as it is FREE! Then we can both decide if this is going to be a good fit.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?

It’s easy. Just go the Calendly link and reschedule. You can also email me to cancel or reschedule. If it is less than 24-hour notice, the session fee is non-refundable.

How can I afford to pay you if I can't pay my bills?

My goal is to teach you how to fish. I feel that the tools and guidance I give you will help you save money over the long term and will surpass any fees that you pay me. If I can help you reduce stress over money, have a healthy relationship with money, and help you change your financial future for the long haul, it is worth hiring a professional who genuinely cares.
